We are a CIC with a focus on helping the White City community and those within Hammersmith and Fulham. We launched in January with Sipho Bowen’s giveback where his aim was to create an event for his birthday, to give back to the local community in which he grew up. This then very quickly identified a need within the local community and the Sipho Bowen Foundation was created. We then started ‘The Village’ in the White City Community Centre, where the Sipho Bowen Foundation has been providing a free hot meal and various activities for the local community on the last Friday of every month.

The foundation has organically grown since starting in January, where we fed 30 residents at our first community meal and to date, we have proudly fed 989 community members within Hammersmith and Fulham and have attendance of many local organisations including QPR, The Metropolitan Police and our local MP, Andy Slaughter. We have since expanded into other areas and we are now working with local organisations including the Metropolitan Police Youth Diversion Team to deliver weekly workshops at the community centre. We have also now developed a recruitment agency in partnership with the foundation to further support the community. Bowen and Hector Recruitment was identified as a requirement through working so closely with the community and identifying the consistent need for jobs. This, alongside the networks and connections we have made with local organisations, who expressed to us their need for employees led us to where we are today.
